9Five Eyewear

Howzit!

Well, lets see. I want to talk about 9five , which is not your ordinary eye wear company. 9five Eyewear is targeting the skateboard industry and culture, literary rocking 9Five Eyewear while skateboarding and representing SD.

Being from SD myself I wanted to know the meaning behind the brand name 9five. So I emailed my buddy Glenn @ 9five.

Glenn responded
"Yo what's up meng!

Well 9five is a collective idea. Some may say that it's the year they started skating (1995). Other's have discovered the supreme mathematic algorithm of 9five to total the "Birth of Power" (the number 9 representing the life cycle of "Birth" and the number five represents the knowledge of "Power"). In astrology, every 14th (9 + five) day of the month is when the sun is at its highest. 9five means a lot of things to different people. All in all, it’s really not what 9five is, but rather what's 9five to you?

Hope that covers it.

9five offers a variety of styles and colors in their collection including: (click style to view colors)

Spinning Wheel by Battlescars

I been meaning to post this for a minute but I was caught up (in physical attraction) ... my bad, side tracked ... but for real, wanted to post a video by Battlescars called Spinning Wheel. Battlescars did this video for his Telemedia 163 Final Project using Adobe After Effects.

A little info about the track Battlescars used, Spinning Wheel. Performed by Maynard Ferguson which is originally written by David Clayton-Thomas. Battlescars cut up the track and blended the sections for the video.

When I first watched the video I thought it could be an opening or ending credits for a movie. Then Twinks said it reminded her of the intro to Monsters Inc.

Check it out. Enjoi. - E.VIL

E.VIL HIPPO Sticker Making

What up tho?

Well, over the past couple of days I been werking on some stickers which I hand drawn. I made 56 stickers. (Why 56? No reason)

I thought I let you know my process. (One of many ways to make your own stickers)

First, I gathered all the material needed. Paper (recycled), Sharpie King Size, Sharpie Fine Point (not shown), Sharpie Ultra Fine Point (used Sanford uni-ball ONYX fine, which smears when highlighted), various colors of Sharpie Accent Highlighter's and a Xyron Model 500 create-a-sticker (not shown).

Second, I started drawing swirls using the Sharpie Ultra Fine point (used Sanford uni-ball ONYX fine).

Third, I used the Sharpie King Size to draw my Hippo.

Fourth, I grabed my handy dandy Sharpie Fine Point and started drawing the details/cleaning lines.

Fifth, I colored the Hippo with Sharpie Accent Highlighter colors.

Sixth (which I did not do), you can add protection to your stickers by using Krylon UV-Resistant Clear Acrylic Coating.

Seventh, I cut out the Hippo's.

All done cutting.

Eighth, I grabbed my Xyron Model 500 create-a-sticker and started making my drawings into stickers.

Seems like a long process but simple. However, I did put in werk tho.

KWS

First post of 2010.

Once again I been layzie about my post (2 months) due to many factors but that's life.

I just received a new sticker done by KWS (Keemowerks). If you look close to the detail. You will notice "hello, my name is keemo.werks. it's my pleasure, nice to meet you." as well as "1996-91950" 1996 represents the beginning of KWS and 91950 represents our neighborHood, Nasty city (National City for those who don't find nasty appropriate).

Here is a pic (not the best). However, you really have to see the sticker in person to really appreciate all the detail. Mad detail. Enjoi. - E.VIL
