UNIV RESN x NIKE SB Dunk Release

Once again I managed to post something hella late ... wait ... i typed "hella late."

Anyways, woke up hella early last Thursday, well for me that is. I usually get up @ 11 or noon, unless I have class in the morning. Got up early to cruise to UNIV for the RESN x NIKE SB Dunk Release. Left the pad around 7 in the morning. So I could be at Eon's pad around 7:30. Wake Eon up because I know dude is sleeping, didn't answer my phone call or text. I chilled for a minute watching First Take ESPN as Eon got ready, and cut around 8, so we'll be at UNIV around 8:30. However, UNIV doesn't open until 11. When we got there 3 dudes were already posted in front of UNIV on their portable chairs.

Chillin' posted in line, you start talking to other cats in line. Two dudes in the front were posted since mid-night, and dude in front of us was posted since 6am. More peeps rolled through about 15 or twenty minutes after us. So, I guess I could of slept in for a little bit longer.

After being posted for a minute, UNIV came through with some complimentary donuts. I had myself a chocolate covered donut. Good looking out, I was hungry. (Even though I had an apple and a banana in my truck, that I forgot about.)

The krayzie part of waiting in line was about,"What size you're going to pick up?" The first two dudes were both picking up a Size 9, third dude as well as myself wanted a Size 9. However, I knew that they only had two Size 9 since I called in and asked. Plus, there was a signed posted on the door. I was like "fuck it" I'll pick up a Size 9.5 (which UNIV had 3 pairs), i wanted my pair. Eon was going to get his pair since he rocks a 10.5. The third dude really wanted those Size 9 but the first two dudes were like sorry man. After talking to the third dude for awhile about how he used to slang, but got caught up. Now he's putting his energy into in school, and hustling college text books. I had a feeling dude would get his pair of Size 9. Right, before UNIV opened the door the third dude made an offer that the first two couldn't refuse.

Each pair cost $140+. The first two dudes paid $75 (or $37.50 each),for a Size 9 and 9.5. So, basically the third dude paid for the first dudes pair and half of the second dudes pair. Plus his pair. Dude paid $345+ for a pair of Size 9. That's good example of how money talks. Hating just a bit because he got a Size 9 and I settled for a Size 9.5. Well, life goes on.

E.VIL BLK on BLK Hoodie

Well, finally re-stitched the lettering on the OG E.VIL BLK on BLK hoodie. Only took about a year (actual werk: few hours over a couple of days). Originally given as a White Elephant Christmas gift in 2006 with a $25 Best Buy gift card. Plus, guaranteed freshness. Had some issues with the sewing machine stitching since it was quickly put together. However, this time around I hand stitched the lettering. Giving the sweater a more personalized look. Just in time for the cool weather. Beejam enjoi.

I plan on werking on some more hand stitched hoodies. Possibly a small run of size large.

Driving the 805 North/ South daily, I keep an eye out for graffiti, which gets buffed quick in San Diego. Werd on the street is San Diego has one of the best anit-graffiti programs. Anyways, I noticed in the past month RTS (Running the Streets, Running the Show, etc.) has been getting up quite frequently.

This caught my eye not too long ago. Been up for a minute. Enjoi.

MCGONAGLE'S Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks

Well, I cruise Reo Dr. in Nasty City often and there has been changes. Roads repaved, added side walks, and new parking in the little shopping strip, as well as a new Authentic Philly Cheesesteak spot, MCGONAGLE's. I noticed the spot when dropping off some mail @ the post office. Been open for about a month and wanted to check it out. On Thursday after hitting the books for awhile, got mad hungry. So Battlescars and I decided to roll out like Autobots and check it out. As we rolled up the owner Dave was posted outside sitting with some locals.

As Battlescars and I walked in "Riders on the Storm" by The Doors was playing from a little Ipod Juke Box. When you first walk in you notice the bright orange and white paint, and a poster on the wall with names of the first 100 costumers. The menu is real simple, which I like since I'm indecisive sometimes, especially when I have too many options. Anyways, Battlescars and I split an Authentic (w/ cheese whiz) and a Pizza Philly Cheesesteak, which I enjoyed. Next time I'm going to ask for more peppers/onions/mayo. When I was done all I needed was a cool refreshing drink, an Arizona Black & White Ice Tea. E.VIL

BLENDS x Converse 1HUND(RED) One Star

Well, it's been a minute. Yes another late post by E.VIL.

Anyways, cruised downtown last Thursday, October 22 for the BLENDS x Converse 1HUND(RED) One Star release. Got downtown a bit early and saw my boy Big Mike posted in front of Armory so I strolled by to give some "daps and pounds" and bullshit while the homies played quarters for dollars. Daily hustle. After a little entertainment I strolled down to Blends.

I was debating with myself on whether or not I should head to Blends and peep the Converse One Star because I know I might just leave with a pair. I just wanted to show some support and chill.

Here is a little info on the BLENDS x Converse 1HUND(RED) One Star. "The shoe was designed and conceptualized by Tak Kato and Mike Toe, co-owners and creative minds behind BLENDS. Converse 1HUND(RED) is a year-long global curation project; commissioning 100 musicians, graphic designers and graffiti artists from all over the world to create one-of-a-kind sneaker designs inspired by the global fight against HIV and AIDS in Africa." By the way I did pick up a pair. I couldn't resist. When you touch them and feel the material. You're like it's so soft. Plus, it's for a good cause. Peace. E.VIL

5 and a Dime x 7Union "Uncle Boy"

Post mad late. But last Friday (Oct. 16) I dropped by 5 and a Dime to scoop up the "Uncle Boy" fitted hat, a collaboration with 7Union . 7Union, who specialize in caps and hats, is a Japan based company, which has successfully created a second base in La La land. The collaboration is an East meets West military hat.

The "Uncle Boy" fitted design is inspired by the USS Midway (CV-41), a US Navy aircraft carrier (lead ship in her class), which was commissioned after WWII and active during Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. The USS Midway, now decommissioned here in San Diego @ the USS Midway Museum was stationed in Yokosuka Japan for 17 years before returning to the San Diego Bay.

The hat came in 3 different color ways: black, navy and purple, and limited to 24 in each color. 5 and a Dime also released two special limited edition shirts in black and white.

I picked up the black color way, which is actually my first 7Union fitted. The quality of 7Union fitted hats are fucking amazing.

Here are some pics. Enjoi.

Those who bought a 7Union hat know I moved the Official sticker to the center. My brain said, "Move sticker, not symmetrical."

E.VIL HIPPO

What up though?

Here is a a piece I did for my homie Jay, which is @ his pad in La Jolla. I never werked on such a huge canvas, 4' x 4'. Actually it's my first painting I really done, I think. Unless someone else can prove me wrong. I mean I werked on small canvases just messing around and what not. As you can see I'm not the greatest painter in the world but I do what I do.

Canvas hand made by KEM with found wood laying around the house and left over canvas. Material used for painting: acrylic and a variety of markers.

"Little Grey Cloud" Photos. Enjoi.

After two layers of paint and some clouds. Wish I took a photo before I added the second layer but whatever. That's life.
E.VIL HIPPO

One day I just took time out of my busy life and got some werk done. No in between photos. "Why?" you ask. Not really sure.

Added thick outline to hippo and balloon. Finally done. Only took me like three months. I probably could have finished over a weekend but with life's obstacles, it took three months. Plus, good things take time.
